A Journey to Dialysis Care
With nearly 20 years of nursing experience, 16 of which have been dedicated to dialysis, Erica always knew that healthcare was her calling. However, it wasn’t until she explored dialysis care, encouraged by friends who were thriving in the field, that she found her true passion. “I realized early on in my career that hospital work wasn’t for me,” she says. “I was drawn to dialysis because it allows me to care for patients on a deeper level, getting to know them personally and helping them improve their quality of life.”
Her journey has taken her through various roles, from charge nurse to clinic manager and clinical educator. She even had the chance to train other nurses in hemodialysis during trips to Africa and the Philippines. But it’s her current role as a Clinic Nurse that brings her the greatest fulfillment.
