Benefits and Perks at FMCNA
At Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA) we are committed to our employees. We provide a wide range of benefits to ensure our employees have everything they need – from health care and retirement benefits to discounts on products and services. We put our employees first because it's our employees that play a vital part in the lives of our patients every day.
Below is a brief description of the benefits that FMCNA offers to its employees*. Employee eligibility is dependent on the number of hours worked per week and/or the tenure with the company. For more specific information about the benefits for which you are eligible, or should you have any questions, please speak with your recruiter directly during the interview process. Further details on the FMCNA benefits will be shared after you have accepted an offer to work with us!
At FMCNA our employee’s health is important to us. FMCNA offers 3 PPO medical plans (Consumer, Standard, and Premium) and a High Deductible medical plan (Health Saver with HSA) to meet the healthcare needs of our employees and their dependents. HMO alternatives are also available in some states.
FMCNA offers a choice of dental plans to help our employees and their dependents with routine and preventive dental care provided by a broad network of dentists.
FMCNA offers a vision plan for our employees and their dependents, which provides access to a nationwide network of private practice optometrists and ophthalmologists, as well as conveniently located retail chain providers.
FMCNA provides basic life, accidental death and dismemberment, and business travel accident insurance. Employees may also opt to select supplemental life insurance offered in amounts from 1 to 8 times your salary.
Eligible FMCNA employees may elect to participate in a short-term disability plan, which provides you with up to 60% of your salary should you be unable to work due to illness or injury.
FMCNA offers a long-term disability plan for all employees working 30 or more hours per week. The plan provides up to 60% of your salary should you be unable to work because of illness or injury.
At FMCNA we care about our employees not only while they are with us, but also in retirement. FMCNA offers a 401(k) plan to help employees save for their retirement. The plan offers two types of employee contributions - traditional (pre-tax) or Roth (after-tax).
Flexible Spending Accounts
FMCNA offers two options for Flexible Spending Accounts - Health Care FSA and Dependent Care FSA. Flexible Spending Accounts allow you to increase your take-home pay by setting aside pre-tax income to be used throughout the year on health care expenses for you and your dependents and/or dependent daycare expenses.
FMCNA offers commuter benefits to help pay for certain work-related transportation and parking expenses on a pre-tax basis. There are two types of Commuter Benefits - Parking and Transit. You choose an amount to be deducted each pay period on a pre-tax basis and it is placed in your Parking and/or Transit Flexible Spending Account.
Paid Time Off (PTO)/Vacation
Our PTO program allows eligible employees to use earned time off to be used for vacation, holiday, sick, and personal time. Eligible employees begin to accrue PTO on the first full pay period after completion of 1 month. Accruals are based on your standard weekly work hours, position within the organization, and length of service with FMCNA.
Extended Sick Leave (ESL)
Eligible employees will accrue ESL, which can be used when an employee must be absent from work due to their own illness or injury.
FMCNA funds a scholarship program for employees’ children and grandchildren.
FMCNA CARES Fund
Compassionate Assistance and Relief for Employees in Need of Support, the CARES Fund, is a company-funded resource that provides financial assistance to employees and their families impacted by natural disasters, accidents, and other devastating experiences.
FMCNA values employee career development, and one way we help our employees is by offering tuition assistance to eligible employees.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The EAP provides a variety of confidential counseling services to employees, including anxiety and stress, marital and family conflicts, legal and financial planning assistance, childcare referral services, etc.
Virtual Visits (formerly Telemedicine)
FMCNA recognizes that life can be busy, that is why we offer Virtual Visits, which allows eligible employees and their dependents to see a doctor on your mobile device or computer to address minor medical concerns. The plan also includes coverage for mental health Virtual Visits.
Note: HMO enrollees are not eligible.
Retail Health Clinics
These walk-in health-care clinics available at many CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and MedSpring locations can quickly address minor to acute cases - while being less expensive and more convenient. FMCNA medical plan participants are only charged a small copay in most cases.
Fitness Club Discounts
Employees enrolled in FMCNA national medical plans can claim reimbursement for a portion of their fitness club fees each year.
FMCNA offers a variety of employee discounts including discounts on home and auto insurance, computer purchases, fitness clubs, cell phone providers, other name brand products, and so much more!
FMCNA offers additional employee-paid insurance options. These include Hospital Indemnity Insurance, Accident Insurance, and Critical Illness Insurance as well as and Universal Life Insurance.
Legal coverage isn’t just for the serious issues, it’s for your everyday needs too. FMCNA offers legal insurance that can help you address common situations like creating wills, transferring property or buying a home.
FMCNA also offers employees Adoption Assistance, Wellness seminars, and discounts on Lasik eye surgery and Weight Watchers.
