Congratulations to our ANNA Scholarship Winners
At Fresenius Medical Care, we are passionate about providing the best care to every patient, every day, and dedicated to ensuring that every employee has the tools and resources they need to grow both personally and professionally. This passion and dedication have driven us to be a recognized leader in healthcare.
We are proud to celebrate three of our nurses who have received educational scholarships from the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA), made possible through a $20,000 grant from Fresenius Medical Care.
Out of 32 applicants, these three were chosen – based on academic records, letters of recommendation and essays – to receive $4,000 for 2018 school year costs.
Meet the scholarship recipients below! Find out more about their careers at Fresenius Medical Care and how they plan to use their scholarships to enhance and grow their careers.
Genna, RN, CDN, is a Clinical Manager in our Garden City, Kansas location. She is a student at Fort Hays State University, and is working toward achieving her personal goal of completing a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
She decided to take on a role in renal care after her best friend passed away from kidney failure at a young age. That personal experience drives her to excel in her nephrology career every day.
“I have worked in dialysis for nearly 18 years, seven of them with Fresenius Medical Care,” Genna explains. “I know that completing my bachelor’s will help me continue to grow in my nursing career and advance within the company.”
Sonya, BSN, CDN, RN, is a Charge Nurse in our Schaumburg, Illinois location, currently pursuing her master’s degree in nursing at Grand Canyon University. Sonya earned her bachelor’s degree in India and began working in a dialysis clinic shortly after. She’s continued to focus on her nephrology career ever since.
“[At] any job I have ever had, I gravitated to the teaching aspect of it, and now in nursing I enjoy teaching and motivating my patients and others around me,” she says. “My future goal is to teach and inspire other nurses to not only care for patients, but [also] to advocate for themselves and others.”
Stacey, BS, RN, is a Registered Nurse in our Kingman, Arizona location pursuing her master’s degree in education. Once she receives her degree, she hopes to take the lead within Fresenius Medical Care, helping to train new dialysis staff.
Congratulations to these scholarship winners for their dedication to Fresenius Medical Care and our patients! It is because of employees like these three that we are able to consistently provide amazing care to our patients and their families.
